在悉尼大学改完第三稿论文,导师红笔圈出‘I believe climate change is serious’——这句话在国内可能是表达观点,但在澳洲,它显得主观又无力。
换成:Evidence suggests that climate change poses significant risks to coastal communities. 瞬间高级感拉满。记住:观点必须有文献支撑,动词选‘indicate’, ‘demonstrate’, ‘suggest’,而不是‘I feel’。
? 被忽略的细节:被动语态和名词化才是王道
昆士兰大学的写作中心有个冷知识:一篇高分论文中,被动语态占比常超40%。比如不说‘We conducted the survey’,而说The survey was conducted across five regional campuses.
更进阶的操作是“名词化”:把动词变成名词。例如‘The government increased funding’ → An increase in government funding was observed. 瞬间正式度+20%。
? 避开本地学生都踩的雷:缩写和口语词
- Don't → do not(除非是直接引用)
- Stuff → issues/factors/evidence(‘a lot of stuff happened’ 是大忌)
- Get → obtain/receive/demonstrate(‘get results’ → ‘achieve outcomes’)
